Guidejar vs Arcade

Arcade makes beautiful interactive demos. So does Guidejar, for $19 a seat instead of $50 billed monthly, with translation into 30+ languages, AI voiceovers you pick or clone, and no 10-seat ceiling. The same capture also publishes as a written guide in a branded help center.

The short version

Guidejar vs Arcade in 30 seconds

Arcade is a genuinely good demo tool. Point the Chrome extension, desktop app, or Figma plugin at a product, and out comes a polished interactive walkthrough with hotspots, chapters, branching, and a synthetic voiceover. More than 30,000 companies use it, and the visual polish is the reason.

The friction is the bill and the ceiling above it. Growth is $50 per seat per month billed monthly, or $42.50 billed annually, and it stops at 10 seats. Custom domain, custom links, Collections, SSO, and the API all sit on Enterprise, so there is nothing between $50 a seat and a sales call.

Guidejar builds the same interactive demos starting at $19/seat monthly, translates them into 30+ languages, and exports a downloadable MP4. And because one capture renders as both a clickable walkthrough and a written guide, your demo work doubles as documentation. The full feature table and pricing math are below, and where Arcade is the better buy, we say so.

Why teams switch

Four reasons demo teams pick Guidejar over Arcade

Both tools capture a product and publish an interactive demo. Guidejar does that job for less per seat, without a seat cap, and without an Enterprise contract for the basics.

  1. Price

$31 less per seat, every month

Guidejar Pro is $19 per seat per month, or $16 billed yearly. Arcade’s only self-serve paid plan is Growth at $50 per seat per month, or $42.50 billed annually. For a five-person demo team that difference is $2,100 a year on monthly billing. Growth also meters AI video: 800 credits a seat each month works out to roughly eight minutes of generated video, and more costs extra.

  2. No Enterprise gate

Your own domain without a sales call

At Arcade the jump from Growth is straight to “talk to a GTM expert.” Custom domain, custom links, Collections, SSO, RBAC, version history, and the REST API are all Enterprise-only, and Growth is capped at 10 seats regardless. Guidejar puts a custom domain, customizable links, and the MP4 export on the $25 Plus plan, with SAML SSO and voice cloning on Business at $75 for five seats.

  3. Localization & voice

Ship the same demo in 30+ languages, from Pro

One capture translates into every locale you sell into, with a separate copy per language rather than an overwrite of the original. Narration comes from a voice you choose, or one cloned from your own on Business. Arcade translates too, covering titles, hotspot text, subtitles and voiceovers, but only from the Growth plan up, and it does not publish which languages it supports.

    See AI translation
  4. Docs from the same capture

Your demo work doubles as documentation

Every Guidejar capture renders two ways: a clickable Walkthrough View for the demo, and a Scroll View that reads as a written step-by-step guide. Both are live, embeddable, and tracked in analytics, and both can be published to a searchable help center on your own domain. Arcade’s Step-by-Step Guide covers part of this: it turns a demo into a scroll-through of images you can share as a link, paste into Notion, or download as a PDF. But it does not auto-update after an edit, it is not embeddable, it records no view analytics, and it skips video steps entirely. There is no help center at any Arcade tier, so support content needs a second tool.

On the demo itself this is closer than the price gap suggests. Hotspots, chapters, branching, variables and pan & zoom exist in both, and Arcade is ahead on desktop and Figma capture, viewer de-anonymisation, pre-capture page editing, and prompt-to-video generation. The gap is what each one costs and how far it reaches. Guidejar starts at $19/seat monthly against $50, translates into 30+ languages from Pro, exports a 30-minute MP4 on Plus, and puts a custom domain on a $25 plan rather than an Enterprise contract. Arcade’s Growth plan also stops at 10 seats. And the same Guidejar capture publishes as a written guide in a searchable branded help center, which Arcade has no equivalent for at any tier.

Guidejar translates into these from Pro; Arcade’s AI Translate starts on Growth

Bottom line: billed monthly, a five-person team on Arcade Growth pays $250 a month. The same team on Guidejar Business pays $75, which is $2,100 less per year. Billed annually it is $212.50 against $59 a month, or $1,842 a year. Two things make the real gap wider. Growth stops at 10 seats, so growing past that means an Enterprise conversation, and its 800 monthly AI credits per seat buy roughly eight minutes of generated video before top-ups.

Prices as of July 2026. Arcade Growth is $50/seat/month billed monthly or $42.50 billed annually ($510/seat/year); Guidejar Business bundles 5 seats. See full Guidejar pricing

Credit where it's due

Where Arcade genuinely wins

No tool is best at everything. Here’s where Arcade is the more sensible pick.

Audience Reveal and a real leads pipeline

Arcade does not just count views. On Growth it de-anonymises the companies watching your demo and surfaces a dedicated Leads page ranked by engagement and form submissions, alongside per-step analytics and branch tracking. Events propagate into Amplitude, Mixpanel, PostHog, Segment and Google Analytics, and Enterprise adds a native Salesforce integration. If demo-sourced pipeline is the number your team reports on, that is deeper than anything Guidejar offers.

AI video generation as a product category

Creator Studio generates marketing video from a prompt, grounded in a Brand Kit that pulls your logos, colours, fonts and writing style off your website, plus source material you attach as PDFs, Office files, images, URLs or other Arcades. Arcade says a new video averages six minutes to make, and its changelog ships video improvements roughly weekly. Guidejar exports video from a captured walkthrough, which is a different thing. If you want prompt-to-video, Arcade has it and we do not.

Pick your fit

Which tool is right for your team?

Honest recommendations based on what your demos have to do after you publish them.

Choose Guidejar if

  • You want the same interactive demos at $19 a seat instead of $50 billed monthly
  • Your team will pass 10 seats, or you don’t want a sales call to get a custom domain
  • You sell in more than one language and need 30+ locales from the $19 plan
  • You want a downloadable MP4 up to 30 minutes with narration in a voice you choose or clone
  • You’d rather your demo captures also publish as written guides in a searchable branded help center

Choose Arcade if

  • You need to demo screens or copy that don’t exist yet, via Page Morph and the Figma plugin
  • Demo-sourced pipeline is the metric, and Audience Reveal plus the Leads page is the reason
  • Prompt-to-video AI generation grounded in a Brand Kit is a product you actually want
  • You capture messy production data and can’t stand up a scrubbed staging environment
  • Your analytics events must land natively in Amplitude, Mixpanel, PostHog, Segment or Salesforce
The verdict

Most teams should pick Guidejar.

It builds the same interactive demos Arcade is known for at $19 a seat against $50 billed monthly, translates them into 30+ languages from the entry plan, exports a 30-minute MP4, and puts a custom domain on a $25 plan instead of an Enterprise contract. The same capture also publishes as a written guide in a branded help center, so your demo work covers onboarding and support without a second subscription. Choose Arcade when Page Morph, the Figma plugin, Audience Reveal, or prompt-to-video generation are the reason you’re buying, and the per-seat budget is there.

Making the switch

Switching from Arcade to Guidejar

Arcade exports more than most demo tools, so the move is easier than you’d expect.

  1. 1

    Export what you have

Arcade exports GIF and MP4 on every plan, and from Growth its Step-by-Step Guide downloads as a PDF or copies straight into Notion and Google Docs.

  2. 2

    Import into Guidejar

Turn those PDFs into guides or run the MP4s through our AI Video-to-Guide Maker. Short flows re-capture in a couple of minutes.

  3. 3

    Publish it properly

Choose Walkthrough View or Scroll View or both per guide, add AI voiceover, translate into 30+ languages, and put the whole library on a branded help center at your own domain.

Something else on your mind? Talk to us

Arcade’s self-serve paid plan is Growth at $50 per seat per month billed monthly, or $42.50 per seat per month billed annually, which their docs list as $510 per seat per year. Growth is capped at 10 seats; past that you talk to sales about Enterprise, which is custom-priced. Guidejar Pro is $19 per seat per month, or $16 billed yearly.

It’s gone. Arcade’s current lineup is Free, Growth, and Enterprise only. Pricing changed at least twice during 2026. Their own docs carry grandfathered pages for “Growth Plan Pre March 2026” and “Growth Plan Pre May 2026”, so any Arcade price you find that’s more than a few months old is probably wrong. A few stale references to Pro still linger in their documentation; the pricing page is the authoritative one.

There’s a real free plan, but it’s narrow. One user gets 1 published interactive demo and 1 published AI video, 200 AI credits a month, one Brand Kit, and unlimited views. Capture is generous on Free, covering the Chrome extension, desktop app, Figma plugin, AI voiceover, and the Arcade MCP server. What’s excluded: watermark removal, custom branding, blur, pan & zoom, branching, CTAs, forms, variables, translations, GIF and MP4 export, Step-by-Step Guides, and all analytics. Guidejar’s free plan is 5 guides with browser capture, PDF export, sharing, embedding, and manual blurring.

Yes, and it’s better than people assume. The Step-by-Step Guide converts an interactive Arcade into a static scroll-through where each step becomes an image with your hotspot title and text as its header. You can share it as a link, copy all the steps into Notion or Google Docs, or download a PDF. It’s a Growth feature, and it has real limits Arcade documents plainly: it doesn’t auto-update, so you re-generate it after every edit; it isn’t embeddable; it produces no view analytics; and it drops video steps entirely. Guidejar’s Scroll View is the same capture rendered live, so it’s always current, embeddable, and tracked.

All three, on Growth and above. GIF and MP4 come out of the export modal with presets for email, social, and presentation, capped at 720p and 24 FPS, with limits of 100 steps or 59 minutes. PDF comes out of the Step-by-Step Guide instead. There’s no HTML or Markdown export. Guidejar exports PDF on the free plan, HTML and Markdown on Pro, and MP4 up to 30 minutes on Plus.

It’s pre-recording HTML editing, and it’s Arcade’s best feature. In the Chrome extension’s capture settings you enable Edit Page, then click any visible text or element on the live webpage and rewrite it before you start recording. The changes persist across clicks and page reloads for the whole capture. Teams use it to clean up test data, anonymise real customer names and numbers without a scrubbed staging environment, and demo copy the product hasn’t shipped yet. It’s on the Growth plan, and Guidejar has no equivalent.

No. Arcade’s docs state it outright: Safari isn’t supported, and the workaround is the desktop app or a manual upload. The Chrome extension works in Chromium browsers, so Chrome, Arc, and Brave are fine. The desktop app covers Mac and Windows and is included even on the free plan, which is more generous than most tools in this category.

For most demo teams, yes, mostly on cost and reach. Guidejar builds the same interactive demos at $19 a seat against Arcade’s $50 billed monthly, translates into 30+ languages from the entry plan, and puts a custom domain on a $25 plan rather than an Enterprise contract. The same capture also publishes as a written guide in a branded help center, which Arcade has no equivalent for. Arcade is ahead on Page Morph, the Figma plugin, viewer de-anonymisation through Audience Reveal, and prompt-to-video AI generation. If those are why you’re buying, buy Arcade.
